By the end of the workshop participants will
- State correctly the 5 key elements of effective communication
- Identify correctly at least 2 barriers to effective communication
- Identify and describe correctly the importance of listening
skills
- Describe 2 key benefits of active listening
and identify at least 3 of its techniques
- Identify 2 key question types and explain correctly their application
and uses
- Explain correctly the 3 levels of questioning
- Explain correctly the 4 key aspects of a model for assertive
behaviour
- State correctly at least 1 technique of assertive communication
- Explain the 4 main communication styles and
identify your own preferred style
- Describe correctly how they can use the information of communication
styles
- Demonstrate correctly the application of questioning,
listening, and assertiveness techniques
- Correctly
identify strategies for resolving communication problems in
either a given case study or a personal issue
