Chris founded Training Matters Associates Ltd in January 2001. She gained her extensive training experience through a variety of training and development roles held in the public and private sectors. She is an associate member of the CIPD and a Fellow of the British Institute of Learning & Development.
Chris is a staunch believer in people “learning by doing”. She enjoys facilitating as an integral part of her delivery style. She encourages course participants to explore their potential through discussion and other activities or exercises as appropriate to the session. She believes in challenging individual paradigms, and also encourages individuals to think beyond their usual boundaries.
Chris’s area of specialisation include interpersonal and communication skills, one-to-one coaching and mentoring, presentation skills, team development, performance management and motivation.
As a result of Chris’s extensive experience she has been called upon to work with a range of clients. These include DWP, NHS, Britannic Assurance, Co-Operative Insurance, Bradford & Bingley, Australia National Bank, LLoydsTSB, Wesleyan Assurance, Royal Bank of Scotland, Britannia Building Society, NatWest, and Colleges of Further Education. She has held the position of interim Training Manager for Paymentshield Ltd and was responsible for designing and delivering a Management Development Programme for 60+ managers and supervisors. Chris is qualified to Diploma level with the Training Foundation TAP qualification. This qualification has extended her skills in training needs analysis, delivery and design. Design of programmes incorporates more experiential learning for delegates.
